Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born on July 8, 1989 in Paris. When she was just five years old when she left for Oxfordshire and attended the Dragon School. Emma's dream was to become an actor. At the age of 6, she enrolled in the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch in which she was taught classes in acting, singing and dancing. At the age of 10, she had already taken part in a variety of Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone The 2001 film version from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was discovered by agent via their Oxford teacher. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after they all had eight consecutive auditions. Emma's first appearance in a film was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It was the year's top production, and it broke records on opening day and first weekend. The film received praise from critics, as were the performance of three starlets. The Daily Telegraph in Britain and the Daily Telegraph in America, widely read, called her performance commendable. Emma received five nominations for her exceptional performance. Later, she won the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actresses of a Film.
